Friday's Race Recap
CONCORD, NC
-- Jordan Anderson came into Friday's race at
Concord Motorsport Park with high hopes after coming
just a few feet short of Victory the last time
Jordan raced at Concord.
The day started off a little slow as Jordan had to
run in new NPR cut tires during practice, but by the
2nd round of practice the tires had been run well
enough to where Jordan could run some fast laps
during his last round of practice.
For his heat races, Jordan would knew he would have
to work hard to get to the front. Jordan started in
the 5th position in his heat race but didn't stay
there long. Once the green flag flew on the Legends
Car heat races the drivers were off. Jordan had
already picked up 2 spots by the time the field went
through the first corner! Jordan then methodically
made his way past 2nd and was setting up to pass the
leader when a caution came out for a spinning car.
On the restart Jordan sucked right up behind the
leaders car. After a few laps of racing hard, Jordan
came out on top with lead. Jordan would go on to win
his 4th straight heat race at Concord Motorsport
Park, giving him the pole position for the main race
later that night.
After talking with his crew about how his car
handled during the heat race, Nick Pistone and the
crew decided to make a few minor changes to Jordan's
car to prepare it for the feature race.
When the green flag fell on the Pro/Master feature
race the drivers were off, but not for long.
Supposedly Jordan and the 2nd place car "jumped" the
initial start, so the entire front row was moved to
the back for the start. Even though Jordan saw his
pole starting spot diminish, he still knew he had a
chance for victory. When the green flag fell on the
field again Jordan was off, picking up positions
every lap. On lap 5 Jordan was back in the lead. The
race ran clean with Jordan Anderson in first and
Thomas Hartensveld only a few car lengths behind him
in 2nd.
After the caution and the green flag was back out,
and a five lap shootout was underway. Jordan was
able to hold onto the lead after the restart, and
led the rest of the race. This was Jordan's 3rd win
at Concord Motorsport Park of 2007.
