Orlando Winternationals
The Raceceiver RE/MAX Legends Semi-Pro division saw plenty of crashing, broken
parts and more throughout the evening.
Heat wins were taken by Paddy Rodenbeck , Jordan Anderson, Travis Pennington,
and Chris Wilson. Heat three featured a major altercation that eliminated the
car of Brennan Poole for the rest of the night and sent Darin Coker, Matt Bowers
and Addison Rogers to the pits for major repairs.
During the B-Main, Coker's car broke a wheel bearing and he slammed hard into
the turn three wall ending his night, but fortunately without injury.
Alec Carll of Grand Rapids, MI would lead five other qualifiers into the feature
by winning the B.
Rodenbeck would lead the first three laps until caution flew for Chris Wilson's
wall-banger on the backstretch. Officials then penalized Rodenbeck 5 positions
for jumping the initial start, handing the lead to the winner from the previous
night Travis Pennington.
Pennington set the pace for 2 laps before Jordan Anderson took over the lead.
Anderson would set the pace the remaining distance despite a rash of cautions
for crashes, spins, and oil on the track. Just as Anderson took the checker,
Kory Abbott and Welsley Falk hit the wall hard in turn four severely damaging
both cars. Both drivers weren't hurt thankfully. Anderson, who hails from
Columbia, SC, took his first win of the Winternationals followed by Georgia
driver Pennington and Mooresville, NC's Dan Snyder. Fourth went to S. Beloit, IL
driver Michael Bilderback and fifth to Jake "The Snake" Crum of Statesville, NC.
Rodenbeck, Beau Browning, Mark Bakaj, Ryan Meldrum and Wesley McLeod rounded out
the top ten.
