NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Recap:

– For the third straight season, #21-Austin Hill won the Xfinity Series season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway. It’s his seventh career win, with five of them coming on superspeedways.


– #18-Sheldon Creed finished runner-up in his first start for Joe Gibbs Racing. It’s his eighth runner-up finish. Jordan Anderson Racing put two of its entries inside the top five, with #31-Parker Retzlaff finishing a career-best third and #32-Jordan Anderson in fourth. #81-Chandler Smith rounded out the top five.


– #98-Riley Herbst overcame a late penalty to finish sixth. #20-John Hunter Nemechek, #7-Justin Allgaier, #9-Brandon Jones and #16-AJ Allmendinger completed the top 10.


– Polesitter #2-Jesse Love led flag-to-flag in the opening stage while #21-Hill scored the Stage 2 victory.


– There were 19 lead changes among 14 drivers and nine cautions for 44 yellow flag laps.

– The average speed of the race was 108.119 mph.

After finishing 26th in Monday’s postponed United Rentals 300, Burton opens the 2024 season 25th in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Driver Point Standings.

After the completion of the 2024 season opening United Rentals 300 at DIS, the No. 27 team sits 26th in the NXS Owner Point Standings after Burton’s 26th place finish on Friday night.
