– Practice; After clearing NXS technical inspection Friday morning, the 38-car field would be split in two groups for a pair of 15-minute practice sessions. Scheduled in Group 1 alongside his teammate, Parker Retzlaff would log a fast lap of 20.503 at 92.357 mph on Lap-11 his 22-lap session earning the FUNKAWAY Chevrolet Camaro SS 7th quick overall.
– Starting Position; Similar to last weekend, teams at the conclusion of practice, teams would be given ten minutes to make adjustments, change tires, and add fuel prior to moving into qualifying to determine the starting order for Saturday’s National Debt Relief 250. In 2024, short-track qualifying would consist of a single round of single car qualifying for two laps. In his two laps Retzlaff would lay down a blistering fast lap of 19.901 at 95.151 mph to go on top of the board thru 15 cars. Besting the times of the final 22 cars the No. 31 FUNKAWAY Chevrolet would claim the overall top qualifying position, Retzlaff’s second (Richmond, Martinsville) pole award of the 2024 season. Retzlaff will lead the field to green for Saturday’s National Debt Relief 250.
– Martinsville Speedway Stats; Saturday’s NXS National Debt Relief 250 will mark Retzlaff’s fourth NXS start at Martinsville Speedway. Of his four starts, Retzlaff has finished in the Top-15 three times holding an average finish of 16.8. During April’s Dude Wipes 250 at Martinsville Speedway, Retzlaff would start in the 13th position and be involved in a track blocking accident on Lap-70 that would take the No. 31 out of contention and ultimately finish in the 37th position. Claiming a career best 7th place finish in October of 2022, Retzlaff would find himself with a 82.2% lap completion rate with 837 laps completed of the possible 1018.

– Practice; After the completion of NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) technical inspection Friday morning, the field of 38 NXS cars would be split in two groups for a pair of 15-minute practice sessions. Scheduled in Group 1 alongside his teammate, Jeb Burton would record a fast lap of 20.669 at 91.616 mph on Lap-9 of his 31-lap session placing the CELSIUS Chevrolet Camaro SS 23rd fast overall.
– Starting Position; At the conclusion of practice, teams would be given ten minutes to make minor adjustments, change Goodyear tires, and add Sunoco fuel prior to lining up for qualifying to determine the starting order for Saturday’s National Debt Relief 250. In 2024, short-track qualifying would consist of a single round of single car qualifying for two laps. Rolling out 18th to make his qualifying laps, Burton would put down a best lap of 20.310 at 93.235 mph on Lap-2, placing the No. 27 CELISUS Chevrolet 21st on the board. – Martinsville Speedway Stats; Making his ninth NXS start at Martinsville Speedway, Burton holds an average finish of 18.8 in seven previous starts. Capturing a career best 4th place finish in October of 2020. Burton holds a 96.2% lap completion rate with 1966 laps completed of the attempted 2044. In April’s Dude Wipes 250 Burton would put down a burner in qualify capturing the 4th starting position, but would have a mechanical failure late in the race and would retire early in the 32nd position. In eight starts Burton has one Top-5 finish, and four Top-15 finishes at Martinsville Speedway.
