NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Recap:

– #2-Jesse Love won the season-opening United Rentals 300 Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway. Love took the white flag as the leader as drivers in the pack wrecked coming across the finish line. Love led 30 laps, pushing Richard Childress Racing’s record to wins in four straight Daytona races in February.

– #41-Sam Mayer finished runner-up in his debut with Haas Factory Team. #00-Sheldon Creed placed third, with #1-Carson Kvapil and #54-Raylot Gray rounding out the top five.

– #25-Harrison Burton, #32-Jordan Anderson, #26-Dean Thompson, #51-Jeremy Clements and #07-Patrick Emerling filled out the rest of the top 10.

– #21-Austin Hill won the opening two stages and led a race-high 56 laps before having a rear-gear issue during the final stage.

– #31- On Lap-74, Perkins would begin to develop a smoke trail coming from the Werner No. 31. Confirmation from the No. 19 would prove it was a liquid of some sort leaking. For multiple laps Perkins would be unable to move to the bottom lane to get onto pit lane. Once coming to his pit box, the No. 31 crew would diagnosis the problem as a broken seal in the power steering pump. Perkins would ultimately go behind the wall and out of the race.

– There were 24 lead changes among 11 drivers and eight cautions for 39 yellow flag laps.

– The average speed of the race was: 123.301 mph.
