NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Recap:
– Despite having an ill-handling racecar, #20-John Hunter Nemechek won the Alsco Uniforms 250 Xfinity Series Season race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The win is his third of the season, which increases his regular season championship lead to 16 points.
– #11-Daniel Hemric finished second, tying his best finish of the 2023 season. #00-Cole Custer picked up his 11th consecutive top-10 finish. #10-Justin Haley, who led a race-high 80 laps and was in control of the race until a late caution came out, finished fourth. #1-Sam Mayer rounded out the top five.
– #19-Ty Gibbs placed sixth, as #28-Kyle Sieg earned the best finish of his career in seventh. #48-Parker Kligerman, #92-Josh Williams and #18-Sammy Smith completed the top 10.
– #98-Riley Herbst won the opening stage, which was the first stage victory of his career. #2-Sheldon Creed claimed the second stage. Both drivers were involved in a wreck on lap 89.
– There were 14 lead changes among nine drivers and eight cautions for 50 yellow flag laps.
– The average speed of the race was 108.029 mph.
