Jeb Burton – No. 27 Golden Corral Chevrolet Camaro SS Preview- Circuit of the Americas

News and Notes: 

– Practice; After clearing NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) technical inspection on Friday morning the No. 27 Golden Corral Chevrolet would see the 3.426-mile Circuit of the Americas (COTA) track for the first time in a scheduled 20-minute practice session on Friday afternoon. When the checkered flag flew on the practice session, Jeb Burton would record a fast lap of 136.943 at 89.643 mph on Lap-5 of his 5-lap session putting him 20th fastest of the 40 cars entered for the NXS Focused Health 250 at Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

– Starting Position; Directly after the conclusion of the 20-minute practice session teams would move into qualifying to determine the starting order for Saturday’s Focused Health 250. In 2024, road course qualifying would consist of two rounds of group qualifying with the first round consisting of 15-minutes of two groups with the fastest five cars in each group moving onto the second round for a 10-minute session to determine the pole sitter. Burton would run a fast lap of 135.589 at 90.538 mph in Group B placing the No. 27 Golden Corral Chevrolet Camaro SS 12th fastest in the group at the end of the 15 minutes failing to transfer on to the fast-10. At the conclusion of qualifying Burton will start Saturday’s Focused Health 250 inside Row 11 in the 21st position. 

– Circuit of the Americas Stats; Saturday’s Focused Health 250 will mark Burton’s fourth career start at COTA in NXS competition. In three previous starts Burton holds an average finish of 18.0 with a career best of 10th coming in May of 2021. Burton holds a 100% lap completion rating finishing all 138 laps in three events.

– Practice; After completion of NASCAR technical inspection Friday morning Parker Retzlaff in his second appearance at COTA would put the No. 31 Bommarito.com Chevrolet on track for a scheduled 20-minute practice session on Friday afternoon. Retzlaff would record a fastest lap of 136.969 at 89.626 mph on Lap-4 of his 6-lap session ranking Retzlaff 22nd quick of the 40 cars on the entry list for Saturday’s NXS Focused Health 250. 

– Starting Position; Directly after the 20-minute practice session teams would be given 10-minutes before moving into qualifying to determine the starting order for Saturday’s Focused Health 250. In 2024, road course qualifying would consist of two rounds of group qualifying with the first round consisting of 15-minutes of two groups with the fastest five cars in each group moving onto the second round for a 10-minute session to determine the pole sitter. Retzlaff would record a fast lap of 134.577 at 91.219 mph in Group B putting the No. 31 Bommarito.com Chevrolet Camaro SS 10th in the group at the end of the 15 minutes failing to transfer on to the fast-10. At the conclusion of qualifying Retzlaff will start Saturday’s Focused Health 250 inside Row 9 in the 17th position.

– Circuit of the Americas Stats; Saturday’s Focused Health 250 will mark Retzlaff’s second career start at COTA. In his lone start at COTA in 2023, Retzlaff would start in the 34th position complete all 47 laps and cross the finish line in the 17th spot in the running order.

Green an experienced road course racer would record a fast lap of 136.882 at 89.683 mph on Lap-3 of his 4-lap session placing Green 18th fast of the 40 cars entered for Saturday’s NXS Focused Health 250. 

– Starting Position; Directly after the 20-minute practice session teams would be given 10-minutes before moving into qualifying to determine the starting order for Saturday’s Focused Health 250.
